Physical Therapy

Lizanne Pastore PT, MA, COMT opened her physical therapy practice in San Francisco in 1995. She received her B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont in 1987, and has obtained a range of advanced clinical certifications over the course of her career in the fields of neurology and orthopedics.  Since 2005, she has specialized in women’s health and male and female pelvic pain, and has expertise in pregnancy and post-partum musculo-skeletal conditions of all types.

Lizanne has been involved in clinical and community education for many years—most recently providing her expertise to support a Pelvic Pain Program at San Francisco General Hospital.  She served as Clinical Coordinator of the Student Program at St. Mary’s Medical Center for several years and also sat on the Northern California Clinical Consortium from 1996-1998.  She has been a volunteer clinical lecturer at the UCSF Physical Therapy Graduate Program.  She has also developed physical therapy and wellness programs abroad in villages in Mexico, Guatemala, and India, where she worked primarily with women and children.  Additionally, Lizanne holds a Masters degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.  Somatics emphasizes a subjective, “first-person” body perspective that is often missing in Western medical models, and grounds her philosophy of treating patients as dynamic, multi-system beings, all with unique needs and enormous potential to heal.
